ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
My paintings have many inspirations. They are born from a feeling of expectancy. I allow this feeling to direct my work sometimes focusing on a subject and looking for a fresh approach by allowing the paint to suggest its own desires. Animal and figurative shapes provide much of the underlying structure in my images. I allow the process to begin and gradually direct the choices of color and form until there is a sense of rightness about the work.
Some are like waking visions while others are inspired by my visual experiences of the world. Like dreams they occur at different levels. Many have spiritual themes that coincide with my personal journey or offer my philosophy to the world. Others reflect various emotional states and ideas that need visual expression. Some of my favorites are funny images that delight.
